Bandipur is a charming hilltop settlement known for its preserved cultural atmosphere and stunning Himalayan views. To ensure a seamless journey, here is the most convenient way to travel from Kathmandu.
Option 1: The Scenic Route (Tourist Bus & Cable Car)
For a modern and picturesque arrival, we recommend taking the Tourist Bus followed by a cable car ride directly into the heart of the village.
Departure: The bus departs from the Sorakhutte Tourist Bus Stop in Kathmandu at 7:00 AM.
Arrival at Bandipur Cable Car Lower Station: You will reach the Bandipur Cable Car Lower Station at approximately 12:00 PM.
Cable Car Experience: * Tickets are available at the counter for approximately 700 NPR per person (round trip).
Flexibility: The return portion of your ticket is valid for use within one week.
Convenience: The upper station is located in the heart of Bandipur village, making it incredibly easy to walk to nearby hotels and start your vacation immediately.
Option 2: The Traditional Route (Highway point Bandipur Gate & Taxi)
If you prefer traveling by road all the way to your doorstep, you can remain on the bus until the highway drop-off point.
Drop-off Point: Get off the bus at the Bandipur Gate located on the Prithvi Highway.
Local Transfer: From the gate, local taxis are available to take you up the hill to the village.
Cost: A taxi typically charges around 1,000 NPR per vehicle (not per person) for a one-way trip.
Arrival: While you may need to wait a few moments at the gate for a taxi to become available, this option is ideal if you have heavy luggage, as the taxi can drop you off very close to your hotel entrance.
